| General Biographical Description: | Ronald T. Burkman served as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Baystate Medical Center from 1995 to 2007. He previously was the C. Paul Hodgkinson Chairman of the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, Michigan and Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology, at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Baltimore, Maryland. Dr. Burkman has been an active researcher and authored more than 290 articles, textbook chapters and books on various topics in obstetrics, human reproduction, contraception, and the menopause. He has also co-authored CD-ROMs on the clinical management of shoulder dystocia and fetal heart rate tracings. He has served as an editor and reviewer for several journals. He serves an examiner for the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In addition, as a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), he has served as the Chair of the Massachusetts Section and is currently Chair of the PROLOG Committee, a member of the Committee on Professional Liability, and Vice Chair of ACOG District I. |
