Hydrocortisone and Pramoxine Cream (Analpram-HC)

Description:

Anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive agent

Indications:

Topical relief of inflammatory and pruritic manifestation of corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses

Contraindications:

History of allergy to components of the preparation

Precautions:

Pregnancy category C: Should only be used if potential benefit justifies the potential risk to the fetus
Pediatric patients may demonstrate greater susceptibility to topical corticosteroid-induced HPA axis suppression and Cushing’s syndrome than mature patients because of a larger skin surface area to body weight ratio

Adverse Reactions (Side Effects):

SKIN: burning, itching, irritation, dryness, folliculitis, hypertrichosis, acneiform eruptions, hypopigmentation, perioral dermatitis, allergic contact dermatitis, maceration of the skin, atrophy, striae, miliaria

Dosage:

Applied topically:

Apply to the affected area as a thin film 3-4 times daily depending on the severity of the condition.
Occlusive dressings may be used for the management of psoriasis or recalcitrant conditions.
If an infection develops, the use of occlusive dressings should be discontinued and appropriate antimicrobial therapy instituted.
