Q3:
A.
Admit her to the hospital and give intravenous clindamycin 900mg every 8 hours and gentamicin 5 mg/kg daily.

This is an effective regimen for inpatient treatment, there is really no pressing reason to hospitalize this patient. However, hospitalization should be reserved for patients in whom a pelvic abscess is suspected, in women who are pregnant, and in patients with vomiting who are unable to maintain hydration or take oral medications. She is able to drink and maintain hydration and should be able to hold down oral medicines. So, she can be treated with an oral regimen at home. Select another option.
